Wimborne in Bloom Coffee Morning raises over £500

The Wimborne in Bloom Annual Spring Coffee Morning was held at the home of Anthony and Christine Oliver on Saturday (11th May). The weather could not have been more perfect, a bright sunny morning enabled the greater part of the event to be held in the garden. There was a good attendance and there was brisk trade on the Bring and Buy Stall as well as the Plants for Sale Table. The Raffle alone raised over £150 and the whole event raised just over £500 towards this years ‘In Bloom’ Campaign.

Speaking after the event Chairman Richard Nunn thanked everyone for coming from across the community and to Anthony and Christine for once again hosting this popular Springtime event.

The next Wimborne in Bloom event will be the Annual Meeting which will take place on Monday 3rd June in the Town Hall, 37 Wet Borough, commencing at 7.30pm. All are welcome to attend.

This will be followed by the second Wimborne in Bloom Open Gardens Day this year and this takes place on Sunday 30th June when 20 gardens in and around the Town will be open. The gardens will be well signed in town and leaflets for this event will soon be in circulation.

The summer planting takes place during the middle of June and over 100 hanging baskets will also be erected. We hope that we can count once again on everyone’s support to ensure that the Town is looking its very best throughout the summer with an absence of litter, weeds and graffiti. Help is always needed so do please contact the Chairman, Richard Nunn on 01202 888793 if you can assist in any way.
