2016 Pre-Christmas Coffee Morning

Wimborne in Bloom's Pre-Christmas Coffee Morning held on Saturday at the home of Anthony and Christine Oliver raised £519.

"It is a splendid amount" said Richard Nunn, Chairman of Wimborne in Bloom after the event. There was a little rain as we started but then it kept fine 'just' for the morning and as it finished the rain returned. Over 60 people attended. He thanked everyone for their support in coming and all those that helped and indeed supported the event with items for both the main raffle, the Christmas cake raffle and the bring and buy.

Raffle winner

Margery Ryan receiving the 'Christmas Tree' she won in the raffle from the Mayor Cllr Mrs Sue Cook. It was said that the tree will have to grow a bit during the week before it is planted in the Square for the Town Lights switch on, on Saturday! Also in the picture the Town Crier Chris Brown and the Chairman of Wimborne in Bloom Richard Nunn.

The money raised will go towards our 'In Bloom' Campaign in 2017, the year in which we celebrate the 25th anniversary of our foundation. The Inaugural Meeting was held on 27th November 1992. Inevitably costs to plant up the Town for both the summer and autumn together with watering throughout the summer will rise and are likely to cost in excess of £16,000.

Richard Nunn appealed for continued support. If you feel you can help please do get in touch with me on (01202) 888793 or just come along to the Annual Meeting in the Town Hall on Monday 30th January 2017 at 7.30pm to find out what is involved. Full details of all Wimborne in Bloom events can be found on our website.

The small working committee and a large number of members and supporters have managed to ensure the Town has looked good for the past 24 years. Please help us to ensure it continues that way for the year ahead.
